Pink Panther Conceptualisation Process

This is my Pink Panther creation made with love. Made in pink! A favourite colour of all time. The glittery crystals provided the necessary glitter glamour and a touch of fabulousity. A serious creation injected with a little fun.

A snapshot of how it looks when it is worn. A delicate and elegant piece of artistic creation. See how the translucent glass pearlized beads at the top ends blend in with our skin tones, making it visually comfortable to the eyes of the people looking at you. In short, it does not GLARE and scream for unnecessary attention. Much thought was put into this one.

All of Us Contributed!

MTS wishes all our customers, friends and family a wonderful festive final month of 2013. From the sales of the 2 shops and MTS online, we were able to put together some money as well as funds from my own to make a charitable cash contribution to the Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Association (SPCA), Singapore. The sum of S$500 will be put to good use at the animal shelter for food and medicine, education to the public as well as rescue efforts. This sum would not have been possible this year if not for your kind support and appreciation of my art.

We will continue to do so every year, hopefully. Please note that any sales made from December 2013 onward will be included for donation next year.

Below is the cheque issued by me from our joint account. The donor name is Mr Lim We-Hwon Alex, my husband. The donation is made under his donor account with his acknowledgement as I consider him to be the Financial Controller for My Trinket Stop.com.

New! Bag Charms for the Playful You

These bag/purse charms are handmade by me. The unique thing is that I have incorporated an Agate gemstone (at least 3cm x 3cm) into the design. This gemstone is specially imported as it is polished all-sides so it will not damage your bag surface.

The stone is held up by the weaving bind of the ribbons and oxidized chain so it is not heavy and firm to hold up its shape. The ribbon ends are treated so it will not frail over time. Perfect as holiday gifts. At the moment, they are all one-of-a-kind in different colour variations and will be available online starting 13 Nov 2013 and will be available in both shops in 20th November 2013. Get yours today.

They are handmade and thus rather limited in stock but will be replenished at the shops whenever necessary, so remember to call to check for availability before you intend to go down to purchase at the shops. Pieces available for sale online will definitely be available for sale immediately, no need for pre-ordering. There are no repeated designs here so only you will own that piece at the moment.

Please view pictures below on how you may use them on different bag straps or bag zippers.

Customisation: Incorporating your used brooches, earrings, pendants

Here at My Trinket Stop, every Black Butterfly Signature creation tells a story, we incorporate meaningful brooches, earrings and pendant components into our creations. These components can range from fauna and flora inspirations to shapes which define an era, such as circular-shaped retro earrings components. Do note that the components used here are new and un-used.

You can also customize a piece like this for yourself with your used trinkets, such as earrings, brooches, key chain components and pendants which you no longer wear, but too meaningful to discard, and want to revamp its look. We can do it for you. Please contact me. For Singapore customers, you may either make an appointment and pass your meaningful item to me. You will also need to tell me what you envision about this creation, such as shape and colour tone, as well as in silver or gold or even red copper. Appointment and collection location: Radiant Craft, at Novena Square 2, Singapore. Leave the rest to me and I will come back to you with the completed piece.

For international customers, you will need to send me your meaningful item by mail (cost to be borne by sender) and we will correspond by email.

You may view these samples that I have created to have a better idea. More creations will be updated here.
This is a proud piece as I managed to use a green butterfly brooch (on the right) that came with 3 dangling "feelers". I did not want to remove the feelers because I wanted to use it as it was made in the intended manner. Apparently, the resulting look was actually very mysterious and elegant as well.

Never forget to inject some fun into the creations. Check out the butterfly brooch in rhinestones against 2 bronze leaves.  The green glass crystals were used to signify leaves and foliage. The red was to enhance the pink colour rhinestoned-brooch.

This vintage-inspired creation exudes a fruity strawberry flavour as bronze pendant pieces were combined with pink-orange Jadeite gemstones.

I used one side of a pair of earring to make this sexy piece. See the flower motif earring in the middle? I decided to use smoky crystals to bring out the mysterious look of bronze components. Reminds me of a hot piece of red lingerie with lace trims. I call it the Lacy and Red. Why not just wear this and nothing else? Seductive!

Do you spot a metal cast phoenix on the middle to the right of the creation? The Abalone shell on the tail feathers of the phoenix will change colours from hues of sea green to aqua blue under different lighting. Mysterious!
I decided to create another mysterious piece using the other side of the earring. This is a quirky piece that does not conform to the usual necklace shape. And that's the fun of wearing this piece. People just want to take a closer look. It's my Come Hither creation.

This Abalone shell flower-shaped brooch is again paired with aqua and blue crystals. I used drop crystals on the right to create a look to resemble multiple and layered leaves.

An abalone shell metal-cast flower-shaped brooch made into a fabulous vintage-inspired necklace creation. Wire-weaving technique is used here to create the vintage look. My heart just melts looking at the final creation and justifies the hours put into this piece.

A ceramic flower-shaped metal-cast flower pendant with rhinestones transformed into a coppery gold creation using tedious wire weave technique.  The effort was definitely worth it. One of my proudest pieces.

A Cat's Eye glass pendant transformed into a glamorous piece with crystals and pearlized glass.

A customised belt  for a dear customer made from an original abalone shell pendant necklace creation.

The aqua-coloured flower-shaped applique in the centre was initially a singular pendant.

Do you see an abalone shell flower brooch somewhere in this creation?

Check out this flower applique right on the top and there are 2 leaf charms which came from bracelets.

Another flower applique creation.

A earring component put together with this creation.

A Swan brooch right there on the left.

A brown flower brooch in the middle staring at you.

I love butterflies! Flutter, flutter!

Another earring component. A painted cloisonne-style piece in circular form.

Another flower applique with leaf charms. They make my day.

Another flower applique with leaf charms

A violet flower brooch peeking out amonst the African violets. Oh lala!

Another butterfly creation flamboyant in Parisian style.

One more butterfly to offer for this vintage-inspired Parisian Style.

Inspiration of Vintage Parisian Fashion Style

A research on Parisian fashion style led me to be inspired by their fashion sense from the past to the present. But what do we mean when we look at vintage style? What do we see that brings out the vintage style quality? The colour? The materials used? A particular insect used to represent vintage quality?

Below are some images I came across that inspires me in different ways. Check them out.

Some old pictures, drawings and postcards. The fur, the decorative hat, the butterfly, the scarf.

An updated vintage look for the modern woman.

Jewelry! The fleur motifs expressed in different styles and curves.

Vintage style brooches and rings are very unique.

See these vintage beads and metal cast butterflies, scorpions, flowers put together to form a beautiful story. Each of them unique in their own way.
